Metric fine dial indicator, 0.001mm graduation over 0-1mm of travel, on a 58mm dial. A general-purpose indicator resolves 0.01mm; this one resolves ten times finer, and the 1mm of travel is what you pay for it — which is why a fine indicator is a second gauge, not a replacement for the first. It is a plunger instrument, not a lever-type test indicator, and the movement runs on jewel bearings so the pointer follows the work instead of sticking and then jumping. The body is steel rather than aluminum: precision work happens on the same bench as everything else.
