MACHALLY's precision workholding line spans three vise families — GT Series Modular Vises, QKG Series Sine Vises, and QGG Series Toolmakers Vises — covering machining centers, surface grinding, EDM, and inspection applications. GT Series jaw widths run from 100 mm to 300 mm with clamping forces up to 40 kN, all built from HRC58-62 carburized alloy steel with 0.005 mm/100 mm parallelism.

GT Series Precision Modular Vises

The GT Series is MACHALLY's flagship modular vise line for machining centers. A modular design with removable base, fixed jaws, and moving jaws allows fast changeover and flexible operation without additional fixturing hardware.

GT Series Key Specifications
Jaw Width Range 100 mm (GT100) to 300 mm (GT300 series)
Clamping Force 16 kN (GT100) to 40 kN (GT200/GT300)
Parallelism 0.005 mm/100 mm
Verticality 0.005 mm
Material Alloy steel, carburizing treatment, HRC58-62
Design Modular — removable base, fixed jaws, moving jaws

Representative models span three size families:

Model FamilyJaw WidthMax Clamping Force
GT100100 mm16 kN
GT125125 mm25 kN
GT150 (A/B)150 mm30 kN
GT175 (A–D)175 mm30 kN
GT200 (A–E)200 mm40 kN
GT300 (A–G)300 mm40 kN

The GT300 series covers the widest stroke range, with models from 200 mm to 800 mm of opening travel to accommodate large fixtures.

GT Series modular vises typically deliver 0.005 mm/100 mm parallelism and verticality at clamping forces up to 40 kN, making them suitable for tight-tolerance CNC machining center applications across the full 100–300 mm jaw width range.

QKG Series Precision Sine Vises

The QKG Series targets precision measurement, inspection, surface grinding, and EDM applications requiring angular workholding. All surfaces are precision-ground, enabling use in any orientation — horizontal, vertical, or flat. The hardened and ground working surfaces maintain HRC58-62 hardness throughout service life.

QKG Sine Vises provide angular workholding for surface grinding and EDM at HRC58-62 hardness across all working surfaces, enabling repeatable setups in horizontal, vertical, or flat orientations.

Key application areas:

  • Surface grinding with angular setup
  • EDM work requiring precise orientation
  • Precision measurement and inspection fixtures
QKG Series Key Specifications
Working Surface Hardness HRC58-62 (carburized alloy steel)
Surface Condition Precision-ground, all working faces
Orientations Supported Horizontal, vertical, flat
Primary Applications Surface grinding, EDM, precision inspection

QGG Series Precision Toolmakers Vises

The QGG Series Toolmakers Vise addresses bench work, tool room inspection, and secondary operations requiring a compact, high-accuracy vise. Like the GT and QKG series, construction uses carburized alloy steel at HRC58-62 with precision-ground working surfaces. HRC58-62 carburized alloy steel is used for vise bodies and jaws because its surface hardness resists wear under repeated clamping cycles while the carburized core maintains toughness against impact loads.

QGG Toolmakers Vises target tool room and bench inspection work requiring a compact, high-accuracy clamping solution built from HRC58-62 carburized alloy steel with precision-ground working surfaces.

QGG Series Key Specifications
Working Surface Hardness HRC58-62 (carburized alloy steel)
Surface Condition Precision-ground
Design Compact form factor for bench and tool room use
Primary Applications Bench work, tool room inspection, secondary operations

GT Series jaw widths from 100 mm to 300 mm cover the full range of CNC machining center workpiece sizes, with clamping forces scaled from 16 kN at GT100 to 40 kN at GT200 and GT300.

Selecting the correct vise series for the application eliminates the need for secondary fixturing, reducing setup time and workholding cost per part.

For face mill and shell mill setups where rigid clamping pairs with axial cutting forces, see the face mill vs shell mill comparison.

Modular advantage — The GT Series removable jaw and base design supports offline pre-configuration of setups. Multiple GT units can be ganged on a pallet for multi-part machining, reducing idle spindle time between operations.

5-axis compatibility — GT Series low-profile heights provide tool clearance on multi-axis machining centers. The GT100 body height of 35 mm minimizes interference during complex multi-sided operations.

Summary

MACHALLY Precision Workholding Overview

GT Series modular vises typically cover 100–300 mm jaw widths at up to 40 kN clamping force, built from HRC58-62 carburized alloy steel with 0.005 mm/100 mm parallelism. QKG Sine Vises and QGG Toolmakers Vises extend the line to grinding, EDM, and inspection applications.
