The OM series is a mechanical outside micrometer covering 0-100 mm and 0-4 inch, with accuracy of ±4 to ±5 µm. Sixteen models sit on a simple grid: four metric ranges in 25 mm steps, each offered at 0.01 mm and 0.001 mm graduation, and four inch ranges, each offered at 0.001 in and 0.0001 in. Pick the range first, then decide how fine you need to read it. Carbide measuring faces hold their size where hardened steel would wear, and a worn face is what quietly takes a micrometer out of calibration. The ratchet stop applies the same pressure to every part, which takes the operator's feel out of the reading. A lock nut holds a reading while you get the part clear, and the heat-insulated frame stops your hand warming the tool into error.
